Fix Yourself Lawnmowers Repairs Manual
60Can You Fix Your Lawnmower Yourself?
I asked myself the same question a few times. My answer for the longest time was to call a repair place. Whether I owned a Murray or Toro or any other quality make and model, I just took it in to get it fixed.

However, as time has transpired, I learned some simple things to check out. If you do some of these suggestions, you can fix your lawnmower yourself. It really isn't that hard--you just need to investigate a few little things. You can then become a pro at troubleshooting your lawnmower.
First things first--is there gas in the lawnmower? Is there oil in it as well? This is the simplest way to fix your lawnmower yourself. Next--check the gas in the tank. If it has water in it, you need to drain it and put new gas in it. Water in the gas will keep it from starting or will cause it to sputter. There are other things you can look at as well. A dirty air filter will cause a mower not to run properly. If you check in your repair manuals, you can see how to remove it and the proper way to clean it. Also, you may need to clean out your carburetor. This is just a matter of flushing some gas in it or get some carburetor cleaner and see if that works. These are also ways you can fix your lawnmower yourself.
If it starts and it isn't cutting properly or it is jerking around, then you may have some trouble with existing belts and/or bent or broken blades. These are replaceable and do not take a whole lot of mechanical knowledge. Again, check in the manuals to see how feasible it is for you to make these corrections. As with the other tips that have been described, may repairs are things you can do to fix your lawnmower yourself. That is how I learned to do so.
If you were wise enough at the onset when choosing the best lawnmower for your needs, many of these problems can be avoided. A quality John Deere or Sears Craftsman mower will have easily understandable manuals and can readily be maintained without having to enlist outside help.
